Cong panel demands probe into graft charges against HRDA official

The general secretary of Mahanagar Congress Committee Sandeep Gaur has demanded probe into the  graft charges leveled against  an official of Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA), alleging  that  the official was involved  in corruption regarding a host of building projects undertaken. He lamented that even after the complaint was made to the State Chief Minister, no action has been taken  yet against the official. He threatened protest outside HRDA office on 10 August which might culminate in   hunger strike.

Addressing a Press conference on Wednesday, Gaur said, “The Congress members are demanding CBI probe against the corrupt official of HRDA who is   deputed as executive engineer. He has encouraged illegal construction in the city in lieu of bribe.”

Gaur also alleged that the engineer had not taken action against the illegal construction  by many ashrams. Besides, apartments like Shambhu Ashram of Bhupatwala and Shivalik Nagar are coming up because of the corrupt practice being indulged in by the official,  he said.

He further said that he had sent written complaints to the PM office,  Governor,  CM  and central vigilance, demanding transfer of the HRDA official.
