The Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has said that he has directed all the Congress Ministers, MlAs and PCC office bearers to disclose their assets within a week. Upadhyay said this while addressing the media here on Thursday.

The PCC chief informed that he had directed all office bearers of the PCC and the Congress’ associated organisations to disclose details about their assets within one week. He said that the party believed in transparency and hence its office bearers had been asked to set an example. On being asked about whether the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi had also set an example by disclosing their assets, he said that they had submitted the details to the parliament.

Upadhyay further said that since the NDA Government headed by prime minister Narendra Modi had assumed office, the people of the nation were facing problems due to rising level of expense. The party members would hold protests across the state on August 8 wearing garlands of onions to protest against the price rise. He lambasted the Modi Government at the Centre for the consistent rise in price of essential commodities, adding that this had made life difficult for the masses.
