'Cong MlAs elected to 4th Vidhan Sabha will play important role'

The Congress MlAs elected to the fourth Vidhan Sabha will play an important role in the assembly. The people of Uttarakhand have accorded the responsibility of raising public interests issues in the Assembly to the MlAs they elected, said the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay. Speaking at a meet held to felicitate the Congress MlAs in the presence of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Upadhyay expressed hope that the party’s MlAs will raise the issues and work towards their solution not only in the Vidhan Sabha but also outside it. “Victory and loss are routine in a democracy, what is most important for any political leader is to go amidst the public to hear and facilitate solution of their problems. In the State politics, there is an important responsibility on the shoulders of the Congress because the party which has come to power had misguided the people to achieve power. The Bharatiya Janata Party has never had faith in democracy,” he said.

Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that the opposition plays the role of an alert sentinel in a democratic system.

Stating that all had received a chance to serve the public, he expressed hope that the Congress MlAs will discharge their obligations properly.
