The celebration of Congress on resignation of B S Yeddyurappa evoked strong reaction from the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party leaders pointed out that Congress which was ruling Karnataka before the election had been rejected by the people of the State. The media in charge of the State BJP, Devendra Bhasin said that it is a pity that the Congress leaders are indulging in wild triumphalism over today’s development. “They are actually celebrating their crushing defeat in Karnataka. They are also celebrating the fact that Congress is all set to play second fiddle to a regional, small party in the State which they ruled till recently.
This is height of stupidity,” he said. Quizzed over the State Congress leaders sounding euphoric over a certain victory of the party in the ensuing Tharali Assembly by–election, the State party spokesperson said that such premature euphoria was another instance of immaturity.
“BJP is all set to retain the seat with a thumping margin,” he added.
