Cong Govt disrespecting us: BJP MlAs

In a bid to gain first-hand knowledge from party workers about the party’s condition -which has changed after general election-2014, BJP national president Amit Shah convened a meeting with party workers on the last leg of his nationwide yatra here in Dehradun on Sunday.

During interaction most of the MlAs said that BJP MlAs were not being treated respectfully by the Congress-led State Government because they keep taunting that they are unable to execute the welfare works because BJP-led NDA Government has curtailed the State’s Budgetary allocation.

Talking to the media persons, Haridwar MP and ex-Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that Congress led State Government keeps blaming that Uttarakhand is not being treated properly by the Union Government but fact of the matter is Union Government has increased the State share from Union Government tax structure i.e. 42 per cent in 14th Finance Commission which was mere 32 per cent as per the 13th Finance Commission.

Whereas the State had received Rs15,965 crore under the 13th Finance Commission, a Budget of Rs40,767 crore will be allocated for Uttarakhand under the 14th Finance Commission.

“It is true not just in case of Uttarakhand but for every State. As per the 13th Finance Commission, the States used to receive mere Rs3.32 lakh crore between 2010-15 but now, they would get Rs5.24 lakh crore in next five years,” he said.

Making comparison between the 13th and 14th Finance Commissions recommendation, Nishank said the 13th Finance Commission (2010-15) had allocated Rs15,965 crore to the State, whereas the 14th Finance Commission (2015-20) has allocated over Rs40,767 crore to Uttarakhand.

MlAs also sought details on the land Acquisition Bill, which has become bone of contention between Congress and BJP. They MlAs sought the information citing public questions on the issue. Another MlA suggested that party high command should answer Congress led State Government’s allegation against the NDA Government because they keep taunting the BJP in Uttarakhand to keep the Opposition on the back foot.

Ex MlAs, who were also invited to the meeting, said that this meeting has motivated them and now they will activate their supporters to educate the people about the BJP-led NDA Government’s achievements.
