Cong begins to prepare ‘chargesheet’

Published on:

Uttarakhand Congress has started the process of preparing a chargesheet against the BJP-helmed State Government on Monday. The meeting of the committee has been presided over by the state Congress  president Pritam Singh at the state party head office on the day. The district presidents of the Congress and the members of the charge- sheet committee attended the meeting.

In course of the meeting, the party leaders opined that the feedback should be collected  from the block level workers before the final charge -sheet  is drafted against Trivendra Singh Rawat government.  The  opposition party has planned to submit this charge-sheet to the Governor Baby Rani Maurya on  the completion of two years of  the Trivendra Singh Rawat government in office.

After attending the meeting, Kedarnath MLA and member of the  charge- sheet committee, Manoj Rawat said while talking to The Pioneer that the state government has proved to be a big failure in every field of goverance. He claimed that charge- sheet would be fool- proof and comprehensive.

“The document would be submitted to the people of the state and we are sure they would accept every word of it as it would  fit in with their experiences  with the governance,” he said.

He further said that the corruption has eaten its way  in the Centrally sponsored schemes and the charge sheet would expose it.

Rawat added that there is no participation of the people in theschemes ostensibly undertaken for the welfare of them.  “ Mis-governance and a crumbling work culture have become the trademark of the present dispensation  and  the people are reeling under it,” he said.

Former minister Navprabhat is the convener of the charge- sheet committee while former minister Tilak Raj Behed, MLA Manoj Rawat, Dhirendra Pratap and Rajeshwar Painyuli are the members of the committee.

Meanwhile, eyebrows were raised over  Tilak Raj Behed and Dhirendra Pratap having given  the meeting a miss.

The party insiders said that the  PCC president Pritam Singh was unhappy over their absence from such an important meeting.
