The Congress has alleged anomalies in the construction of road in Diuli-Painyakhal, Yamkeshwar block Pauri district. Submitting a letter to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee programme in-charge Rajendra Shah sought that the maintenance of quality in the road construction be ensured.
In the letter, Shah that recently PCC chief Kishore Upadhyaya had undertaken a Garhwal tour during which the residents of this area had complained about the inferior quality of the road work. They had demanded that the inferior quality work be stopped and that an inquiry of the construction work should be conducted.
Eliciting the attention of the CM on requirements in Dehradun, Shah sought construction of a three kilometres road connecting Harbanswala and Telpur to Vasant Vihar. He said that the construction of this road will make travelling to and from the nearby villages more convenient. If this road is constructed, the villagers will not have to take a detour about 10 km long and the development will also help clear out traffic jams faced in the urban area. The local residents and public epresentatives have for long been demanding construction of this road. According to Shah, the CM said that there can be no compromise with the quality of work not only in Diuli-Painyakhal but across the State. Strict action will be taken against officials and contractors found guilty of not ensuring the desired quality standards.
