Scores of incensed Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Sangh (Peyjal Nigam) members have threatened to boycott the work, if their demands were not met by the State Government in the given time frame.

They also lamented that memorandum highlighting the association’s demand was submitted many times to officials but steps are yet to be introduced by the Government for redressing their grievances.

The association agitated members staged protest at Mohini road based at Jal Nigam office on Thursday and also shouted anti department and state government slogans during the agitation.

They lamented that memorandum was submitted to many officials but steps were not taken by the government. The association members said that they had bilateral talks with the higher officials and assurance was also given to the association that their demands would be fulfilled but steps were not taken.

Among the few pending demands of association was departmental tests for promotion, hold DPC for promotion of the employees, filling of vacant posts of executive engineer and superintending engineer and chief engineer, sanction allowance including GPF, vehicle operational and maintenance allowance, medical and health allowance etc.

Speaking to The Pioneer, Arun Rawat, State General Secretary, Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Sangh (Peyjal Nigam) said that members will withdraw their agitation once their demands were fulfilled.
