After the family members of a mentally challenged 15-year-old girl lodged a gang-rape complaint against two persons at Ranipur police station, a case was registered on Monday.
It is learnt from the complaint that the girl was three months pregnant.
Police said that the two accused were the neighbours of the rape survivor and well acquainted with her.
According to the police, the girl, a resident of Jwalapur, was being sexually abused by the accused for the past four months. The girl remaining silent did not raise suspicion of her relatives. But as she complained of stomach pain a few days ago her parents took her to a private hospital.
The doctors there told them that the girl was pregnant. Baffled, the family members asked the girl about how this happened.
She then said that one man named Farman had taken her behind bushes and raped her while another Ravi also raped her twice, once in her own home.
Speaking to The Pioneer, the Ranipur police station house officer, Pradeep Bisht said, “The accused have been identified as Ravi aged 20 years and Farman aged 19 years. Both are residents of the victim's colony.
The duo is absconding, but we would nab them soon. Meanwhile, the girl has been medically examined.”
