Kumaon Commissioner RK Sudhanshu, has expressed disappointment over poor condition of the Bhawali- Almora Road despite its repairing by the department concerned, directing the officials concerned to take action against the contractor concerned for poorquality of works on this road.
Reviewing the progress of various developmental works being carried out in the Kumaon division on Wednesday, the Commissioner said that poor condition of the Bhawali-Almora Road which was damaged by natural disaster last year, even after such a long time, only raises question against style of the functioning of the department concerned. There will be no compromise as far as the quality of works is concerned, he asserted, directing the officials concerned to take necessary action against the contractor of the Bhawali- Almora Road.
It is to note that the Bhawali –Almora is the main motor road linking rest of the Kumaon with Haldwani/ Nainital. The Commissioner also stressed on the need to ensure early completion of the Gola river bridge in Haldwani. The construction works on the Gola bridge should be expedited so that the bridge could be opened for the vehicular traffic as early as possible. Regular monitoring of the big developmental project is a must sothat these big projects could be completed on time, Shudhanshumaintained. At the same time, he also asked the officials concerned of the National Highway Authority to repair all the roads which are in poor shape in the Kumaon division, within a month.
