With the faculty recruitment standoff between Ayurveda University and its chancellor dragging on, Rishikul and Gurukul Ayurveda Colleges would not be able to produce 125 Ayurveda doctors for each of the next three years.
In the current academic year of 2014-15, Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) had given conditional permission in view of the university having promised to fulfill the necessary requirements right before the next academic year 2015-16 begins. The impasse has landed the students' careers in jeopardy. In all, 125 students — 60 from Rishikul Ayurveda Medical College and 65 from Gurukul Ayurveda Medical College, including 50 undergraduate and 15 post-graduate students —would not be able to pursue their career in Ayurveda for the next three years if things remain in a fix.
