Dehradun District Magistrate Ravinath Raman conducted physical inspection of under-construction flyovers at Ballupur and Balliwala and expressed disappointment with the construction agency officials on the tardy pace of work. Along with other district officers, DM had conducted inspection of under-construction flyovers on Saturday.
The agency officials were directed to start the construction work at Ballupur in three days. The district officials informed DM that the State Government has already released funds for the project to the construction agency. DM directed the officials to register a case under section 133 of CrPC in the police station if agency does not complete the construction work on time.
The district officials informed the DM that due to slow pace of construction works by the agency, people are facing traffic congestion daily in the area. In view of this, the residents are angry. Asked why things are moving slowly, the construction agency officials said that some locals are creating problems for them to complete the project. DM directed the city magistrate to lodge an FIR against persons concerned who create such problems. SSP was also asked to take action against them.
SSP Pushpak Jyoti directed the police station in-charge to intensify patrolling around the work place and ensure the impediments are removed.
