After Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s order on Thursday to the DAV (PG) College principal Devendra Bhasin to allow as many admissions in the college as there were last year, Congress leader and State CM’s son Saket Bahuguna reached the college along with Rajpur Road MlA Rajkumar and NSUI members and unlocked the gate of DAV (PG) College on Friday.
NSUI members were seen raising slogans in favour of Saket Bahuguna. Bahuguna met the college principal and said that Congress led State Government will provide all support to the college administration for creating conducive atmosphere for education in the college.
Following this, admission process in the college also began on Friday. Moreover, DBS (PG) College was also opened on Friday and admission process started there.
It should be mentioned here that student leaders under the banner of Shiksha Bachao Sangharsh Samiti have been forcibly closing DAV (PG) College and DBS
(PG) College for the last many days to protest against State Government’s order on introduction of evening classes in self finance mode and principals' decision on merit based admissions.
