CM's media advisor lashes out at BJP, calls rally as 'damp squib'

Dubbing BJP’s ‘Pardafaash’ rally as a damp squib, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media advisor Surendra Kumar said that the people would reject the saffron party with a vengeance in the upcoming  Assembly election.

“Doubtless, the people have  seen through BJP as a party that is hostile to the State’s development and adept in murdering democracy through engineering horse trading. There is thus no element  of surprise in the rally turning into a  fiasco,” he said.

Taking potshots at the  BJP-led  NDA Government  at the Centre, he said  that under the NDA rule the inflation is rising fast with the prices of the essential commodities sky-rocketing. “Besides, the  party is synonymous with corruption. Can anybody forget the   Vyapam scam that resulted in several mysterious deathsIJ”he asked.

He further said that the people of the State are solidly standing behind the Harish Rawat Government whose focus is trained  on bringing about development of all the sections of the  people. “People have realised that the  Harish Rawat Government alone can  address the grievances of the people. They would reject  BJP’s politics of defamation and gimmick,” Kumar said.

Taking a jibe at the ten dissidents who have crossed over to BJP from Congress, the CM’s close aide said that they had been earlier targeted by the BJP for  corruption when they were in the Congress. “Now the same leaders  have turned cynosures of their eyes,”  he said.

He asked BJP leaders to answer questions earlier  raised  by them over  the integrity of  the  dissidents. “The saffron party has lost credibility. And the election would prove so,” Kumar said.
