In a humanitarian gesture, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat stopped his fleet at lachchhiwala flyover, Doiwala when he found a two-wheeler-borne person lying on the corner of a road after being knocked down by a speeding vehicle at around 2.30 pm on Saturday. The injured was transported to a nearby hospital through one of the cars of the CM's fleet.
The incident happened when the CM was returning to Dehradun after attending a programme of co-operatives to mark the World Co-operative Day held at Bhaniyawala in Doiwala.
The CM directed the security officers to inform the family members of the injured about the accident immediately.
The CM appealed to the people of the State to help those left injured in accidents. "We must come forward as our timely help can save lives," he said.
