Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna visited his native village Bughani in the Khirsu block of Srinagar Tehsil in Pauri district and after offering prayers at the Gaura Devi and Rajrajeshwari temples of Devalgarh near the village, directed the Archaeological department to ensure the renovation and beautification of these ancient temples.
He also sought details about the work being done in this direction. At Bughani, the CM paid tribute to his father and former UP CM HN Bahuguna and also inspected the home being converted into the HN Bahuguna memorial. He directed officials to keep it in the form of the house. The CM also heard the grievances of the locals and assured that these will be resolved soon.
He cancelled his meeting with officers due to shortage of time but asked the District Magistrate Chandresh Kumar about the status of development works. He directed the DM to submit the proposals for Khirsu-Bughani potable water scheme, leveling of Khirsu Inter College ground and construction of mini stadium.
It is pertinent to mention here that this was the second visit of the CM to his native village after assuming the post of CM. On his first visit he had entrusted Cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat with the task of supervising the construction of the memorial. However, little progress has been made in this direction. The CM’s son and Congress leader Saket Bahuguna, local MlA Ganesh Godiyal and others were also present during the CM’s visit on Sunday.
