Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has congratulated the people of the State on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti slated to be celebrated on Wednesday. In his message issued on the eve of Valmiki Jayanti, CM said that through the classical composition like Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki had presented to the world the peerless character of the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram who personifies the glorious Indian view of life, both individual and collective.
The appeal of Ramayana is eternal as the values which it epitomises are eternal, he said, adding that Lord Rama represents what is best in life in tune with the norms laid down by the Dharma.
CM, further, said in his message that the education of moral values like sacrifice, harmony, goodwill and humanity given by Maharishi Valmiki through the great Granth Ramayana is more relevant today than ever before.
He said that it is the day to take the resolve to follow Maharishi Valmiki’s teachings at every step in our life.
This would be the grateful nation’s truest homage to the saint who laid down the foundation of the Indian culture and civilisation, lending life with a glorious mission based on the family values, sacrifice and kindness for one and all.
