Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the mango festival, got annoyed when he observed that three officers who were sitting in the last row, were chatting with each other during his speech. Although at first he played down the distraction, he apparently lost his cool when the officers did not stop their conversation and he singled them out from the podium. Seeing this, the CM warned them from the stage that “we are here for the welfare of the farmers so pay full attention to it”.

He reiterated that the state government is for the welfare of the farmers so officers should understand the sentiment of the state. He said to the officials found talking that they were not taking the issue seriously and warned them to have a serious approach failing which they might even be punished for such acts. With this the CM stressed that officers should understand that government is serious for the welfare of the farmers and people too so instead of spending their time on chatting they should think about how one can help them. “Your job is to facilitate them so think on it,” he added.
