'CM trying to get mileage by holding Vidhan Sabha session in Gairsain'

In a bid to get political mileage in panchayat election, Harish Rawat Government has decided to convene a session of Vidhan Sabha at a temporary site in Gairsain. By issuing notification for the session, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has sent the Opposition into a tizzy because they said that they would seek financial expenditure details for the organising the session at Gairsain. Political analyst say that by giving emphasis at Gairsain CM Rawat is building his image that he is pro hills which is why he is going to have cabinet vidhan Sabha session in hills.

Realising that CM Rawat is going to get political mileage Opposition especially BJP, which had kept Gairsain issue on hold after inception of Uttarakhand from UP and during their regime in between 2000-02 and 2007-12 by forming commission or extending their tenure, has been raking misuse of public money on the name of Vidhan Sabha session at Gairsain. Although Assembly speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal has categorically instructed chief secretary Subhash Kumar that you make sure that expenditure should not cross limit i.e. Rs  one crore.

Besides it CM Rawat is going to have five Cabinet meeting outside the Dehradun in next few months. By doing this state government wants to give impetus to the development in hilly districts of the state. In this regard first cabinet meeting would happen on June 5 at Almora district.

It would be pertinent to mention here that former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna had held second cabinet meeting, which happened outside the Dehradun, at Gairsain on November 14, 2012 and later laid foundation stone of Vidhan Sabha building and MlA hostels at Gairsain on January 14, 2013. First Cabinet meeting held outside Dehradun by Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Government at Har-Ki-Pauri, Haridwar.

Political analyst says that CM Rawat is trying to groom his political pitch, where he would contest assembly by poll, to become member of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha. Recently three MlAs including speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, MlA Manoj Tiwari and Harish Dhami have expressed to relinquish his seat in favour of CM Rawat.
