Under consistent fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party over the sting episode, Uttarakhand Chief Minster Minister Harish Rawat has decided to hold direct interaction with the public.

The Chief Minister would hold a series of such dialogues with people in different parts of the State and the first such interaction would be held in Dehradun on July 2. Rawat told the media persons at his Bijapur guest house residence on Monday that every character in the alleged sting CD should be brought under the purview of CBI inquiry.

Terming the recent visit of BJP national president Amit Shah as worthless, he said that the State was hoping that the BJP leader would speak on major issues the State is facing but it is unfortunate that that Shah choose to skirt these core issues.

Rawat said that the State Government wants that the Union Government should increase the central funding in the ancillary projects to 90:10, release Rs400 crores pending under heads of CSR, CSSR and SPA and help the State in the disaster relief works.

He also questioned the silence of the Centre on green bonus and accused it for complicating the issue of hydro power stations when the matter was on verge of being solved.

launching a scathing attack on the BJP leaders he said that the BJP is raising the issue of corruption in State as it suffering from election phobia. Rawat challenged the saffron party to come out with one singular matter which involves his indulgence in financial irregularity. lampooning the approach of BJP, he said that it is interesting that the looser in the recent crossover of MlAs is being shown as accuser while the gainer is termed as clean.

“The approach of BJP is clear, those who are with them are clean and those who are opposed to them are tainted,’’ he quipped.

The CM brushed aside differences with the State unit of the party and declared that the BJP MlA Dan Singh Bhanadari would be soon inducted in the party.

In reply to a question Rawat said that the rising incidence of drug abuse in the State is a cause of worry. He said that the State Government would soon start a campaign against the drug and for it some of the revenue earned from the liquor sales would be spent.
