Once again raising the issue of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat allegedly not providing correct and complete information in his nomination papers during the Assembly elections in 2017, the Jan Sangharsh Morcha has demanded that the Chief Minister should declare his assets.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, the Jan Sangharsh Morcha chief Raghunath Singh Negi said that in his nomination, Rawat had not mentioned anything about the Dhaincha seeds scam whereas a Public Interest litigation against him was pending in the high court. He said, “The high court had also issued a notice to Rawat in this case. In the same case, the Tripathi inquiry commission had already found Rawat guilty of corruption but despite these facts, he did not even mention the case in his nomination paper. In the nomination paper, a column was given seeking information on any case pending in the court but Rawat wrote ‘not applicable’ in this section.
Had he mentioned the Dhaincha seeds scam in his nomination paper then, he would not have been able to become the Chief Minister. Rawat talks about zero tolerance towards corruption so he should disclose information about the various assets he has purchased since 2010 to the present,” demanded Negi.
