While reviewing the progress report of Samadhan Portal on Thursday, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat asked the officers manning it to evolve a mechanism so as to enable the people, making complaints about the malfunctioning of the departments tasked to execute Government projects, get acknowledgement of their complaints within two hours.
He stressed on file tracking system being introduced so that the files can be tracked any time. This would help the administration to fix accountability for the passage of the files being unduly delayed, he said while exhorting the officials to be more responsive to the interests of the common people.
The CM also suggested that a toll free number should be launched to act on people’s grievances in a short space of time. “To make the public grievance redressal system more effective and responsive, samadhan web portal, call centre and social media should be integrated. An officer should be endowed with the task of monitoring the integrated system. A nodal officer should be appointed too for the purpose. As ours is tourism- based economy, such a system put into place would help the tourists too,” CM said.
The meeting was attended among others by the additional chief secretary Omprakash, principal secretary Radha Raturi and secretary to CM Radhika Jha aside from the officials of National Informatics Centre (NIC).
