A book of poems “Khwabo ke Khat” composed by Indian Police Service officer Tripti Bhatt was released by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at the Chief Minister’s residence here on Sunday. Noted poet Hariom Panwar, well known actor Shabana Azmi, poet Asim Shukla and the state’s director general of police Anil Kumar Raturi were also among those present on the occasion of the book release.

Expressing his views on the occasion, the chief minister appreciated Bhatt who is presently posted as the superintendent of police in Chamoli district, pointing out that she was able to take out time from her busy schedule as a police officer for writing poetry.

Writing tends to touch human sensitivity and this skill in a police officer shows that the officer is also a sensitive officer.

The Chief Minister also recollected some instances from the book release by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Hariom Panwar opined that if a police officer is also a poet it is difficult for such an officer to do injustice. Such an officer will not cause trouble to the weak, he added. Expressing her views on the occasion, actor Shabana Azmi appreciated Bhatt’s poetry pointing out that she had touched various subjects in the collection of her poems.

The director general of police Anil Kumar Raturi, said that to find release from the monotony of work and to refresh their spirit, art provides a very good avenue for police officers.

He also appreciated Bhatt for also selecting the literary sphere along with her professional work.

The parents of SP Tripti Bhatt were also among those present on the occasion.
