CM rejigs Ministers incharge of districts

Published on:

Conceding to the demands of some party MlAs and in view of some practical problems cropping up, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has reshuffled the ministers in charge of the districts. Satpal Maharaj who was holding responsibilities of Chamoli and Haridwar districts would now be in charge of Haridwar district alone.

Finance Minister Prakash Pant would be the minister in charge of Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts. He earlier was holding responsibility of Udham Singh Naghar and Bageshwar districts.

Madan Kaushik who was looking after Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts would now oversee Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts instead. Harak Singh Rawat is appointed in charge of Almora district while earlier he was looking after Nainital district. Yashpal Arya who earlier was in-charge of Pauri and Rudraprayag districts would now be looking after Dehradun district.

In the new scheme of things, Subodh Uniyal would be the district in-charge of Pauri while  earlier Pithoragarh district was kept under him. Similarly, Rekha Arya has been appointed in charge of Bageshwar district while Dhan Singh Rawat would hold twin responsibilities of Tehri and Uttarkashi districts. Dhan Singh was earlier in-charge of Almora district.

Observers say  that the CM has made the changes in the responsibilities of the ministers to rejuvenate the administration and ensure better coordination ahead of the next year’s crucial general elections.
