Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat garlanded the statue of Bhim Rao Ambedkar on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary in the provisional State capital Dehradun on Friday.
The Chief Minister garlanded Ambedkar’s statue situated near the Clock Tower. Expressing his views on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Ambedkar had dedicated his life to remove untouchability from society. He had himself also suffered the experience of social inequality but even while undergoing such experience, he had made important contribution to national unity and social equality. Ambedkar gave the nation the constitution which has bound the citizens together, said the Chief Minister while recollecting Ambedkar’s contributions to the nation on the occasion.
