Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat has congratulated Narendra Modi on taking oath as the Prime Minister of India and stressed that for the welfare of the nation and State, the Uttarakhand Government will work as a partner with the Central Government.The model code of conduct will be implemented in Uttarakhand in a few days for the Panchayat elections. Earlier, the imposition of the model code for the parliamentary polls had also affected Government works. The CM was unable to attend Modi’s oath-taking ceremony as Rawat had many review meets slated for speeding up developmental and other works before imposition of the model code of conduct for the Panchayat polls.
Rawat expressed hope that the new Central Government will continue extending support for development of Uttarakhand as extended by UPA Government.
