The Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated several projects worth Rs32.54 crore at Khet in Dharchula Constituency during his two-day visit of district Pithoragarh.
The CM announced several projects like construction of GIC building in Baluwakot, reconstruction of ADB funded drinking water scheme in Dharcula, renovation work of internal routes of Dharchula Nagar Panchayat, construction of roads from Chharchhum to Thamtok and several other internal routes.
The CM also announced the construction of solar power plants in ITBP’s advance posts at Chhiyalekh, Gunji and Kalapani.
In his address, CM said that the State Government was committed to develop the far-flung areas of the State. The relief and compensation would be given to the disaster victims by August.
The directions have been given to the DM to distribute the disaster relief fund by identifying the real disaster victims. Even the land was being selected for their displacement and rehabilitation and the State Government was serious for this.
The CM stated that Rs500 would be given as as pension to the handicapped children. The construction work of 40 approved roads would be started within a year. The bonus would be given to the fiber fabric makers to promote small industries. For this purpose, directions have been given to the DM to make survey through General Manager of Udhyog Kendra.
The CM also made several announcements like approval of 8 small bridges in Dharchula, playing ground and arrangement of BSc classes in Baluwakot Degree College and Allopathic hospital in Ranthi along with construction of helipad in Jyolingcom, construction of guest house and playing ground in Khet.
later, the CM also heard the problems of the local people. The directions have also been given to DM to resolve the district-level problems quickly. Other dignitaries including Chairman Van Vikas Nigum Harish Dhami, Ex-MP Pradeep Tamta, Netra Singh Kunwar, DM Sushil Kumar and SP Roshan lal Sharma along with others.
