CM Rawat ruined Uttarakhand, says Amit Shah

The Bharatiya Janata Party wants to facilitate development in Uttarakhand to a level where the youth do not have to leave the State in search of employment opportunities. There is scope for achieving considerable development in the information technology sector.

Further, alleging that the Congress party and Chief Minister Harish Rawat had ruined the State,  the Bhartiya Janta Party national president Amit Shah averred that the Congress-led State government had become a Government favorable to syndicates active in the mining, liquor trade and land-real estate sector. Stating that various scams had been orchestrated during the term of the Congress Government, Shah claimed that the BJP had the vision for facilitating the desired level of development in the State. He said this while addressing a large public gathering at the Ramlila ground in district headquarter Pauri on Tuesday.

lambasting the Congress party, the BJP national president opined that the “Chief Minister had done little for development of the State and now during the election period, is saying that he has planned for the development of State”.

Shah questioned why the Congress-led government did not implement the development plan during its five-year tenure. He further opined that the main work done by the chief minister was to appear before the Congress national president Sonia Gandhi and party vice president Rahul Gandhi.

Alleging that corruption had reached extreme level in Uttarakhand with the Congress giving little to the state, he claimed that only the BJP has the vision for development of the state and redressal of the problems of the people of  Uttarakhand.

He said, “There has been no allegation of corruption in the working of the government under prime minister Narendra Modi during its two and a half years in office while during the term of the UPA there were scams orchestrated from the space down to patala (underground).” He further said that Rahul Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had raised the question of where the black money is but have expressed opposition after the demonetisation step was taken. Shah claimed that the people are happy with the prime minister’s decision to demonetise and steps taken to eradicate corruption.

Criticising the Congress, Shah listed various works citing them as achievements of the BJP and also referred to recent initiatives like the Rs 12,000 crore for all weather roads on the Char Dham circuit to enable pilgrimage 365 days a year.

The BJP wants to develop Uttarakhand into such a state that the youth don’t have to go outside their home state for employment. There is scope for development in the information technology sector. Claiming that only a BJP government in the state could take the state forward on the path of progress, the BJP national president appealed to the people to vote for the party’s candidates Mukesh Koli in Pauri constituency and Dhan Singh Rawat in Srinagar constituency.

MP and former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, BJP national secretary Teerath Singh Rawat and party candidates from Srinagar and Pauri constituencies were also present on the occasion which by some estimates is considered to have been attended by about 10,000 people. The BJP national president also addressed public gatherings at Ghansali and Ramnagar.
