Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat checked the condition of tree saplings planted last year as part of the mission to revive the Rispana river. Visiting the Kairwan village area, he inspected the condition of the trees and expressed satisfaction at their state. The chief minister said that the dense tree plantation in this area would help enhance the sources of water for the Rispana river. However, he also also stressed on the need for further work in this direction.
Rawat said that the campaign for revival of the Rispana river has been started in the form of a social movement. Positive impacts are also being seen in the initial phase. He pointed out that the trees planted in this area comprise various fruit and medicinal varieties which would not only help in boosting the water resource but also prove useful for medicinal preparations. The forest department is also undertaking necessary measures for nurturing the trees. Further, arrangement for rain water collection has also been made here. It is important to take special care of these trees in May-June after which the rainy season would bring with it the possibility of good growth. Public representatives and departmental officials were also present on the occasion.
