Taking cognisance on the lohiyahead power house, which received severe demaged because canal wall collapsed, entire area come under deluge, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has instructed for conduct of the safety audit of all hydro projects of the State.
He made this instruction while having a meeting with secretary irrigation Dr Umakant Panwar, Irrigation department and Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam limited (UJVNl) at Bijapur guest house on Sunday. He also instructed them to release Rs one lakh compensation to the deceased family with immediate effect. This amount would be additional help from UJVNl norms. During the meeting, the CM was apprised that “we do not have command over the diversion channel of Sharda canal because it is under control of UP irrigation department”. The CM also spoke to UP irrigation minister Shivpal Yadav and asked him to find out permanent solution to such problem. Healso isnturcted their secretary to have secretary-level meeting “with our UP counterpart and find out amicable solution”.
