On the last Wednesday of each month, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will review action taken on complaints received through the Samadhan portal and toll-free number 1905. He also directed all the Secretaries and District Magistrates to ensure swift redressal of complaints and regularly monitor functioning of the Samadhan portal.
Reviewing action taken on complaints received, the CM ordered the good governance and corruption eradication secretary to lodge and FIR and direct a vigilance inquiry if needed in the case of alleged illegal tree felling in Haridwar district. He also sought explanation from the social welfare and tribal welfare secretarites for absence of departmental officials from the meeting.
In the meeting, there were total three cases
related to social welfare and tribal welfare but no officials from these departments were present. Expressing dissatisfaction at this, the chief minister directed that clarification be sought from the secretaries concerned. Rawat also pulled up the director general of health department and the disaster management department for initiating action on complaints just one day before the meeting.
He stressed that officials should check the complaints regularly. He also directed that that the auto escalation feature should also be added to Samadhan portal to pass on the complaint to the next senior officer in case the same is not redressed within a fixed time limit. In the meeting, a complainant alleged that with the connivance of forest department employees and officers in Manglaur and Roorkee the cutting and lopping of 106 trees was carried out instead of the approved 44 trees in Udalhedi village in the name of a solar plant and lopping work. Through videoconferencing, the Haridwar divisional forest officer said that order had been passed for recovering Rs 43,500 from the salaries of the range officer, forester and forest guard responsible in the case and that they had also been transferred. Taking serious cognisance of the case, the CM directed the good governance and corruption eradication secretary to lodge and FIR and also get a vigilance probe conducted if needed. Regarding a complaint regarding wrong name being registered in revenue records, Rawat directed the Dehradun DM to probe the role of the Patwari and take strict action if he is found guilty. The CM also issued instructions to officials concerned while taking up other complaints received.
He talked directly to most of the complainants and regarding the complainants he could not talk to, he directed the DM to personally cross-check the departmental action.
