While inaugurating Patanjali Sewa Ashram (Sanskritgurukulam) in Uttarkashi, spread over one lakh square feet and built with a cost of Rs 25 crore, on Saturday, Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has heaped lavish praise on yoga guru Baba Ramdev for playing a pivotal role in the development of the State through his Patanjali trust.
"Due to his consistent efforts, around one lakh youth have got employment here and five lakh more would get jobs in the next five years," he said.
He appealed to Ramdev to open a processing unit in Dagar Patti, the place known for its abundance of turmeric, ginger and pulse. "If you open a unit there the farmers would get better price of their agriculture produce and would spend more time in their farms. This would arrest the trend of migration too," he said.
He reiterated that stopping migration from the hills is one of the major commitments of his Government.
The CM announced on the occasion that the State Government would provide funds for the construction of snan ghats on Alaknanda at Patanjali Sewa Kendra, polytechnic building at Hindolakhaal and primary health centre at Hinsariyakhaal. On this occasion, the students who have been residing in the ashram displayed their art of yoga.
Notably, the ashram at Uttarkashi had come up following the Kedarnath disaster-2013 to shelter the children left orphans. Over 100 such children are being educated here till 12th. After they complete Class 12 studies they are shifted to Haridwar to pursue higher education
