Chief Minsiter Harish Rawat formally inaugurated the Mussoorie winterline carnival -2015 here in Mussoorie on Friday. On this occasion artists from different States performed their cultural programme and child artists also performed in the presence of CM.
Before inauguration CM also launched aero sports by inaugurating hot air balloon at George Everest Peak (haathipaanv). He also unveiled the Musical fountain and Mural Jhoolaghar, widening of library chowk and two wheeler parking in Mussoorie. In his address CM said that George everest peak will be developed as museum. This year we have added hot air balloon aerosports with Mussoorie winterline festival. Our endeavour is to develop one museum here so that Himalaya and everest record will be preserved here.
He also said that we have managed to lure tourist because this year 10 lakh tourist visited during char dham yatra season. This figure is very motivational. To promote tourism we have started Himalaya Darshan scheme and will cut its tariff by 25% by next year so that more people would venture to go for Himalaya darshan and its beaury as well. State Government is making all effort to develop Tehri lake as tourism hub so we are planning to launch see plane in Tehri lake.
On the pattern of Mussoorie we have also started Nainital winter carnival this year, so that more tourist visit Uttarakhand. This will create employment. As we know that there is end number of tourist site in uttarkhand but there is need to publicise all such spots so that tourist will come for fresh view.
