Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has extended his greetings and good wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on the festival of ‘Vijaydashmi’ and ‘Dussehra’ slated to be celebrated on Friday. In his message, CM said that festival of ‘Vijaydashmi’ is a symbol of victory of good over evil. He said that on this day, Lord Rama treading on the path of ‘dharma’ attained victory against Ravana who embodied arrogance born of the power and pelf he enjoyed.

CM, further, said in his message that the festival of ‘Vijaydashmi’ is a festival of coordination between festivities and power. The festival of joy and victory of dharma over what is contrary to dharma motivates the people to leave behind what is bad, against the dharma, and also to embrace what is in tune with the concept of dharma, the righteousness in individual and collective life, envisaged by the seers and saints of this holy, hoary land, the CM said.

While dwelling on the invincible strength inherent in the path of dharma, he said that if one is committed to tread the righteous path even while negotiating daunting challenges the victory is certain.

We can vanquish and triumph over the impediments, however formidable, if we are determined to cling to dharma. Lord Rama personifies this truth and ‘Vijaydashmi’ is the day to renew our pledge to go along the path of dharma with unwavering commitment under all circumstances, he said.

CM also stresses in his message that the festival stands for brotherhood and love. He urges the people to celebrate the day in the spirit of the great occasion.
