Appreciating their courages, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said these three women who decided to scale the Bhagirathi Peak would inspire other girls of the State and country too. In times when a serious deliberation is also going on on the Himalaya and its geological condition so their decision to scale a Himalayan peak would grab public attention and they would also give their thought on the Himalaya.

He appreciated their spirit referring to their plan to collect garbage along their route on the mountain terrain while returning from scaling the peak. This will help in maintaining ecological condition of the Himalaya and will help elicit focus on the issue of pollution in the Himalaya. This will also attract the people especially those who love adventure sports.

Team leader Madhavi Sharma said that their team would start the expedition from Gaumukh and will unfurl tricolour at the peak of Bhagirathi-II and will return to Dehradun by September 18. Their team members have been trained from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi. Their objective is to reveal hidden strength of girls and inculcate confidence while also inspiring other girls and their parents too.

The team also wants the world to know about the ample scope for adventure tourism in the State. Under Swachchh Bharat mission the team members would bring garbage while returning from peak. As is known, many mountaineers who visit high altitude regions, throw garbage there to keep their loads limited.
