In order to personally address the public grievances in the Kumaon region, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will meet the general public once a month at the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Haldwani.
He also directed the Ministers in charge of the districts to hold open meets with the public in their respective districts consistently with seriousness. The Chief Minister said this while interacting informally with the media persons after addressing public grievances at the BJP party head office here on Monday.
It will be recalled that the chief minister has recently directed ministers to hold open public meets on different days of the week at the BJP State head office in Dehradun to address and resolve grievances of the general public and party members.
All the Ministers concerned will ensure that their substitute Minister is present in case they themselves are outside Dehradun or unable to attend the meeting due to unavoidable circumstances.
On Monday about 150 complaints were received by the chief minister at the BJP State head office. As seen in the past too, majority of the applications were regarding monetary assistance while some other cases were related to the Public Works Department, health, education and other departments. Sunil Kumar of Pauri submitted that he wants to construct a pond on his land for fishery purpose and sought assistance for this construction.
The Chief Minister directed the department concerned to take necessary action on the application. Dehradun resident Shakuntala Devi requested that an electricity pole be removed from the middle of her farmland. Rawat assured necessary action according to the regulations in this case. The villagers of Paukhal area in Pauri district, requested the Chief Minister for construction of a forest guard chowki at Marankhet.
