In the case of Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) resident Manoj Chowdhary’s murder, the Nainital police have arrested his close friend Sanjiv for allegedly playing a key role in the conspiracy to murder him. He has been sent to jail after questioning.

According to the police, on May 12, the body of an unidentified youth was found near Budha Pahad on the Nainital-Kaladhungi motor road which falls under the purview of the Mallital police station. The body was later identified as that of Moradabad resident Manoj Chowdhary. The victim’s father Jahendrapal Chowdhary had accused his younger son Ravi of carrying out the murder of his elder brother with an eye on property. After this a police team from Nainital reached Moradabad where investigation substantiated grounds for pursuing the allegation leveled on Ravi by his father. After collecting necessary evidence, the police sent the accused Ravi to jail some days ago. On the weekend, the police also nabbed Sanjiv, a close friend of the murder victim, from the Tallital bus station. According to the police, trusting Sanjiv, Manoj came with him to Chandausi where Sanjiv got him drunk and handed him over to the murder accused. It is alleged that Ravi along with his accomplices brought his elder brother Manoj to Nainital where he was strangled to death.

According to the police, though Manoj did not trust his own brother Ravi due to differences, he had full faith in Ravi. Taking advantage of this, Ravi took him out and got him drunk before handing him over to his brother who brought him to Nainital and allegedly murdered him.
