Four persons including two workers of the Border Roads Organisation were killed and two injured by debris after a cliff broke away on the Joshimath-Malari border road. The accident occurred during the ongoing broadening work on this border road near Saldhar. A JCB being used in the task also fell down in the river in the mishap.
According to information provided by local sources, the BRO workers were busy in the road widening work when a portion of a cliff fell off on Tuesday afternoon. Apart from the two workers, two men returning home after offering prayers at lata village were also killed in the mishap. Those who died have been identified as Harak Singh Rawat, Darban Singh, Mukesh lal and Pavan.
