The result of Class X and Class XII board examinations of Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) would be declared in the last week of May. A decision regarding the tentative timetable for release of the result was made in a meeting of the governing body of board at Ramnagar on Wednesday.

The Chairman of the UVSP and director secondary education, R K Kunwar told The Pioneer that in meeting the process of declaration of the result was reviewed. He informed that the First Edit of the result process is complete. In it the entire data of the marks obtained by the students is uploaded in the system and cross checked. The examination body would now hold the second edit of the process of declaration of results. Kunwar expressed hope that the result would be declared in last week of this month. “ The preparations are going on  in right direction. last year the board results were declared on May 25, this year the examination got delayed by 15 days due to assembly elections. In such a situation we are on track if the board is able to declare result in last week of May. The exact date of declaration would be declared in three four days,’’ he said.

The Uttarakhand board examination got started on March 17 and concluded on April 10 while the evaluation process got initiated on April 17 and culminated on May 02. The answer sheets of the students were evaluated in 30 centres located across the state and 6000 teachers were deployed in the process of evaluation. The evaluators followed step wise process of evaluating in which marks are awarded for every correct step the students takes while attempting the answer. The result of class XII board examinations of UVSP and marks obtained by the students assumes significance this year as following a court order, the practice of award of bonus marks to the students of Uttarakhand board in the admissions in the colleges has been done away with.
