The strike of the Class IV contractual workers of health department continued for 12th day on Tuesday.
On the day a delegation of the workers led by district president Nelson Kumar Arora met the district magistrate and submitted their list of demands.
Arora said that these workers are working on paltry wage of `4,000 per month from last seven years. He said that these workers are working in the CHCs, CMO office and hospital for mentally ill patients, Selaqui.
He added that it is a matter of great concern that these employees are not getting any of the benefit like increment, bonus, Provident Fund, dress and medical allowance.
The workers on strike for 12 days alleged that health department officials have repeatedly ignored their just demands.
