The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun held its board meeting with specific focus on the proposed Dehradun smart city plan here on Monday. The consultant company representative made a presentation to inform the councilors about various aspects of the proposal.
The proposal to be submitted to the centre is now focused on application of retrofitting to development Dehradun into a smart city. After retrofitting Dehradun will also be linked to the pan-city proposal. Issues including the municipal wards to be covered in the plan and facilitation of smart services were also debated upon by the councilors at the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dehradun Mayor Vinod Chamoli said that in the attempt towards developing Dehradun smart city, there are some proposals which are incomplete whereas some works are being planned with experimental measures. After much debate on varied aspects, the MCD board members could not reach agreement on some issues.
The next MCD board meeting on the Dehradun smart city proposal will be held on April 11, as announced earlier by the city Mayor. It is expected that the various disagreements among board members might be sorted out before the next board meeting.
