As chopper, rescuing the stranded people from disaster-affected areas, hovers over the Jolly Grant airport, eyes of Brijesh Shukla, who is searching his kin, sparks with a ray of hope. He attentively listens to the announcement being made by the control room about the name of rescued passengers.
But he becomes sad when the announcement doesn’t comprise name of his brother Dr Ajay Shukla and his family.Shukla, a resident of Puranpur, Pilibhit, did several rounds from Jolly Grant to Himalayan Hospital. Chocked with emotion and moisten eyes, Shukla is searching his brother Dr Ajay Shukla, his wife Shivangi Shukla, and his nephew and niece Anshuman Shukla and Poorva Shukla in the list of rescued persons displayed outside the emergency ward.
His parents, Krishna Devi Shukla and Karuna Shankar Shukla, are also ‘missing’. Ashish Shukla, a resident of lucknow, is searching his mother Krishna Shukla. The group last contacted from Kedarnath area. Shukla with moisten eyes has not lost hope. He is confident that family of his brother would return safe.
“I hope that my brother Ajay and his wife and two children, my parents would return. I hope that God will not disappoint me,” Shukla said. He waits for the next chopper to come with a hope that maybe the next chopper will bring his brother and family. In the meantime, another chopper hovers over the airport and he looked at it with a new hope.
