The Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of lD Bhatt Government Hospital, Kashipur, BC Joshi, was caught red-handed by a vigilance team while taking bribe at his residence in Udham Singh Nagar’s Kashipur area on Friday morning. The vigilance department, Haldwani, took action after one Girvar Singh, a native of village Munimpur, police station, Thakurdwara, district Moradabad, lodged a complaint.
It was found that the accused had property worth Rs50 lakh. Besides Rs11 lakh in cash, about 210 gram gold and bank and post office accounts worth around Rs22 lakh and bonds worth Rs2.70 lakh were found at his residence at Aawas-Vikas, Kashipur.
“We are convinced that CMS Joshi is having assets disproportionate to his known source of income,” said Pankaj Bhatt, SP, Vigilance Department, Haldwani. During the course of investigation it was found that Joshi has been working in the same Kashipur area for about 20 years as a doctor. Also, he had been working as CMS of the lD Bhatt Government hospital, Kashipur, for the last one year.
