Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the officials concerned to look into possibilities of generating electricity through floating turbines on rivers and canals in the State. He said that like solar and wind power, this technology will be suitable for the rivers and canals in the State.

Chairing a meeting here on Saturday, the CM directed the officials to check the possibility of installing floating turbines on rivers in mountainous areas to facilitate electricity generation while also providing irrigation to farms and drinking water.
