In connection with alleged rape of a woman by suspended additional secretary (Home) JP Joshi and counter FIR lodged by him against the woman and other two persons, accusing them of blackmail and attempt to extort Rs 3 crore for settlement of this case, the police filed chargesheet in the court of Judicial Magistrate second Rinki Sahni against suspended joint secretary (social welfare) SS Waldia, Samajwadi Party leader Neeraj Chauhan and media person Shiny Mac Khan on Tuesday.
Police imposed sections 384, 389, 504, 120b of the IPC, 67-IT Act on these accused. In the 1461-page chargesheet, police have given details of 52 witnesses and evidences related to this case. The police had earlier filed chargesheet against Joshi and expelled Congress leader Ritu Kandiyal on January 2 this year.
In connection with counter FIR lodged by Joshi, the special police team is yet to arrest the two accused who had allegedly demanded Rs three crore from Joshi for the ‘settlement’ of the case. The district court had earlier declared both the accused absconders. It should be mentioned here that the woman had filed a zero FIR at the Pandavnagar Police station in East Delhi on November 22 last year, accusing Joshi of sexually exploiting her on the promise of getting her job for the last two years.
