Chargesheet a baseless bundle of lies, says BJP

Published on:

The Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the charge-sheet released by the Congress on Sunday as a bundle of lies. The BJP stated that the charge-sheet comprises baseless statements made without taking cognisance of facts. It accused the Congress of leveling allegations without checking the facts.

The BJP stressed that progress has taken place at a considerable rate in Uttarakhand due to the ‘double-engine’ government. Countering the allegations leveled against it, the BJP has asked the Congress to explain how the State’s growth rate increased if no progress had taken place and how the per capita income increased if no work was done in the state.

The growth rate of Uttarakhand was 5.91 per cent in 2016-17 which increased to 7.03 per cent in 2018-19. Further, the per capita income which was Rs 1,58,000 in 2016-17 increased to Rs 1,90,000 in 2018-19.

These facts alone deflate the challenges thrown by the Congress in its charge-sheet, the BJP states.

The BJP then goes on to state what the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done and achieved in its five-year term so far, comparing it to the works done under the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

It states that progress made in the economic sector, execution of various public welfare schemes and the benefit provided to people under the same.

The BJP has listed various facts and figures to counter the allegations leveled by the Congress. Rebutting the allegations leveled at the State Government, the BJP has listed the various works and achievements during the term of the government under chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat so far.

The party has listed investors summit and the benefit of hosting it, welfare schemes like the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana providing universal health cover to all citizens of the State, works and achievements in tourism, agriculture, employment generation and rural development sectors among others.
