Chandra Pant gets Cong ticket

Beating all rivals, Kailash Chandra Pant emerged victorious in getting Congress ticket to contest for the post of town area chairman.  He filed his nomination for the post on Friday.

Pant would have to face his party colleague Rambabu Mishra who filed his nomination as an independent after failing to get Congress ticket.

Hemant Narula filed his nomination as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. Satish Bhatia filed nomination as Bahujan Samaj Party candidate. Bhuvan Pande, the representative of Dairy development Harish Chandra Durgapal, also filed his nomination for the post of chairman.
