'Champion' writes to Bahuguna seeking action on his plaint

The Khanpur MlA and former chairman of the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ has written to the Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna complaining about the absence of action assured by the CM in response to Singh’s earlier complaint about irregularities amounting to many crores of rupees in the corporation.

In his letter the former UFDC chairman states that the corporation managing director is facilitating deals of private lands costing crores of rupees for the relocation and establishment of various timber depots whereas a senior Government officer posted as the then corporation chairman had directed that forest land be searched for this purpose or the district magistrate be approached for getting other Government land to avoid purchase of private land and related irregularities. The MlA alleged that the UFDC MD had facilitated the process for buying private land costing Rs 100 crore. “It is unfortunate that Government revenue is being misused by Government officials in connivance with the land mafias. I was the UFDC chairman for a year and a half and worked for its development so I cannot watch this land scam as a mute spectator. In public interest, I request you to cancel this land deal and order a high level inquiry into the irregularities,” states the former corporation chairman in his letter to the CM.
