The rebellion against the State Government usurped by the Khanpur MlA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ has petered out with the State BJP President Ajay Bhatt accepting the explanation given by blabbermouth MlA and taking back the notice served on him.
Champion arrived at the residence of Bhatt on Thursday morning and submitted his written explanation on the show cause notice. He told the waiting journalists that his statements were made in a fit of anxiety which has resulted in the problem to the party and Government. Champion added that his intention was not to hurt anyone.
The Khanpur MlA said that he had joined BJP as he was impressed by the policies pursued by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party President Amit Shah. State BJP Chief Bhatt said that since the MlA has said that he regrets the statements made by him, the party has decided to drop the notice. He added that Champion is a respected member of the party.
Frustrated by his repeated negligence in the party and growing clout of cabinet minister Madan Kaushik who also comes from Haridwar district, Khanpur MlA raised a banner of revolt. He made many attacks on the state government for ignoring him. Champion even went to the extent of meeting the Party President Amit Shah in which he vented his anger against the State Government.
The state Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat took an exception to the utterances of Champion and even rebuked him publicly. The state unit of the party slapped a show cause notice on Champion and asked him to submit a reply within ten days. Champion got subdued by the tough stand taken by the CM and the party and submitted his apologies.
