Khanpur MlA and former chairman of Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ lambasted some Hindi daily newspapers for publishing “incorrect” reports about him.
He also said that since he had announced the name of his wife as a potential Congress candidate for the Haridwar lok Sabha seat, those conspiring against him had stepped up their efforts to defame him.
Addressing media persons, Singh said that a report about him purportedly failing to pursue his assurance to raise the issue of protesting BPEd and MPEd unemployed persons with the State Government published in a Hindi daily and another report about the CM refusing to meet him published in another Hindi daily were incorrect.
“In the first case, contrary to the published report, I met the Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar and advocated the cause of the trained unemployed strongly seeking proactive action in this case. In the second case, the CM received me and heard out the issue I raised and made a note on the memorandum that I submitted to him.”
In letters written to the editors of these two newspapers, Singh has questioned why false reports were published and requested that necessary steps be taken to prevent such anomalies in the future.
Replying to questions as to why was he featuring in controversies he said that since he announced the name of his wife as a potential Congress candidate for the Haridwar Parliamentary seat, those conspiring against him had stepped up their actions.
“I still maintain that BSP MlA and Cabinet minister Surendra Rakesh is corrupt and that the Progressive Democratic Front is taking advantage of the genteel attitude of the Congress.
Rakesh is mired in corruption but since resilience and not revolution is the norm in Congress, no one except me is speaking against such anomalies,” added Singh.
Referring to the case reported to the police wherein he had allegedly threatened a shopkeeper at gunpoint and his family while also misbehaving with them on Diwali night, he said that at the time he had allegedly threatened the complainant, he was at MlA Subodh Uniyal’s home.
